Kansas Pheasant Hunting

Who We Are

Who We Are

Who We Are

Hunts take place on a multi-generational working family farming and ranching operation. My father started guiding wild bird hunts nearly 35 years ago. We continue to carry on the tradition of upland hunting and the great memories it has provided our clients and families.

Our farm is located 4 miles east of Lovewell Lake and is nestled at the base of the hills, surrounded by tall grass prairie, crop fields, and timber. Who said all of Kansas had to be flat?

We strive to give you an action-packed upland experience with plenty of trigger time from our supplemented pheasant hunts, and an opportunity to chase our natural quail coveys.

We look forward to providing you and your friends, family, or business associates with an unforgettable hunt, lots of birds, and even more memories.

When preparing for an upland bird hunt, it's essential to check the weather forecast before your stay to select the appropriate clothing.

Among the most popular shotguns for this activity are 12, 16, 20, or 28 gauge, with an improved or modified choke being the ideal choice. For ammunition, it's advisable to bring 2 boxes of #5 or #6 high-velocity lead shot.

Safety is paramount during your pheasant hunting trip, so always wear blaze orange, including at least a cap and vest. Additionally, you should have protective eyewear, like prescription glasses or shooting glasses, along with hearing protection.

Lastly, don't forget to pack a cooler for transporting your game birds after a successful hunting trip.

We utilize Yellow Labs for flushing and retrieving during our guided pheasant hunts. Our dogs have experience hunting alongside pointing breeds, making them ideal companions in the field.

You are welcome and encouraged to bring and hunt with your own dogs or alongside ours. Our hunting packages provide a great opportunity to train a young dog or even give an experienced dog a challenge.

All are welcome, and we mean it. Watching the dogs work and retrieve is an essential part of the upland bird hunting experience! Join us for a memorable pheasant hunting trip with our experienced hunting guides.

Additionally, wearing chaps or pants with briar protection can help safeguard against rough terrain and thick cover.

Dressing in layers is advisable for the variable weather conditions, ensuring you're prepared for any situation during your pheasant hunting trip.
